2:22 am - Oops!

ajlis
The Russian newspaper " City Messages " (Volgograd) is closed because of
caricatures which have been printed.
(the inscription is translated: and in fact we did not learn them to it)

What do you think in this occasion?

7:20 pm - Swatch Advert

margeryk
Yesterday I was at Stanstead airport on the way back from a GirlguidingUK council meeting. I saw a bad advert for swatch. Unfortunately I can't find an image of it online and I didn't have the digicam with me, but I will describe it to you.

It was a photograph of a woman focusing on her breasts that were separated and partially covered by a shawl made up of pink swatch watches. She was wearing bronzing make up.

I will wite to Swatch UK and complain and also contact Stanstead Airport. Keep an eye out and if you see one contact Switch here: http://www.swatch.com/fs_index.php?haupt=information&unter=contacts

Anyway - how are you alll?

10:40 pm - Women's Hour Watershed fiction

margeryk
I referred to a radio programme when talking to Sara at the conference. It is called 'women's hour' and here is a link to part of its website that looks at fiction that has changed women's lives in how they perceive themselves.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/wwf_index.shtml

The Women's Hour homepage has some interesting bits and bobs too.

Hi everyone,

Check out this link to part of a poem. Unfortunately I can't find the rest of the poem online and have never heard of the poet. Quite interesting though.

5:35 pm - Welcome!

margeryk
Bonjour! Hello!

Well done for finding us! After some correspondence with Bettina, where we shared some ideas and links I thought I would set-up this community to enable everyone to join in!

We can also chat here and generally keep in touch. I hope Teresa's foot is better!

Here is the first link: http://www.diversity-in-europe.org/ which has a great resource, 'the toolbox', which has lots of ideas for activities suitable for anyone teaching gay issues or counselling gay women. Thank you Bettina!

Here's link no.2: I have uploaded my photos of the conference onto the website organised by Silvia: http://www.picturetrail.com/youngwomen.

Here's link no.3: a lovely website sent by a friend of mine: http://www.wearewhatwedo.org

Take care,

Sarah from GirlGuidingUK - (I use the name MargeryK online)
